As a Christian counselor in the San Francisco Bay area, I have the pleasure of working with people who survived childhood trauma.  In counseling sessions, we work on inner healing to help heal the part of the soul that was wounded or in more severe cases fractured into multiple identities in consciousness. During these sessions, Jesus Christ is the one who brings healing to the wounded soul. My job as a counselor and spiritual director is to work with these souls and identities connect with Jesus. From these sessions, I have observed a growing trend where souls are not able to connect with the indwelling Jesus. Why I find this startling is because a lot of these souls are people I worked with at one point or another in evangelistic outreach ministries. This observation was curious to me that these souls could do prophetic ministry and yet not hear God for themselves. How is that these people could hear from God for others, but not connect with God at all on a very subtle level?...

The following is a video segment from the Friday January 17 Equipping for Spiritual Warfare sessions that were held in Redding, Ca through Bob and Kimberly Johnson Ministries . The video and audio aren't so great on this. I record sessions on my iphone to review for what I need do better in future talks. So this is M16 Ministries raw and unplugged - so to speak. Pastor Jimi Merrell and I put on a Prophetic Bootcamp - a 4 hour crash course in prophetic ministry. Here is an excerpt on that class. Monique, a woman in her mid-fifties, was a Christian for the past two decades. Monique loved Jesus and the walls of her house were filled with needle points she had made containing scripture. Christian magazines were neatly displayed on her coffee table. Monique's bookshelf contained a library of books from her favorite author's, Joyce Meyers, and Joel Osteen to name a few. The house picture perfect and had the appearance of being well kept and in order. As Christians we tend to avoid the word 'mystic' or 'mystical' in any of our vocabulary regarding our prayer life. We are openly aware of the eastern mystics and the associations to New Age practices and meditation. The word mystic is another Christian heritage vocabulary word high jacked by the enemy. And so is meditation, another word that has been taken from us. The Bible tells us we are to meditate on the word of God, Psalm 1. 1 Blessed is the one who does not walk in step with the wicked or stand in the way that sinners take or sit in the company of mockers, 2 but whose delight is in the law of the LORD, and who meditates on his law day and night. 3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in season and whose leaf does not wither— whatever they do prospers.  Psalm 1 We are to meditate on God day and night. Continuing on in the research of Saint Teresa of Avila's work, The Interior Castle. This is the saint's masterpiece in documenting the developing stages of a contemplative prayer life. As mentioned before, The Interior Castle is NOT a how to book on prayer. It's not about methodology. It's about transforming your life to be more like Christ through a prayer life. The early church mystic,Saint Teresa, makes it perfectly clear there is no methodology. Prayer life is about developing a deeper love for Jesus Christ. She documents, using her metaphor the interior castle (the soul), of what she feels are the seven stages of prayer life development. Without the overhead of printing costs, I can allow my notes to be as large and as exhaustive as I want. And keep the new Field Guide book I am writing, down to 200 or so pages. The first book in the series, Field Guide to Spiritual Warfare (Feb 2011, Destiny Image) is 300 pages. These are my notes and not the book. So don't think you're getting away cheap here!
