I can't believe June is almost here. Where did the first couple of months of 2014 go? We're a small but very busy ministry. As most of you know, I have been pulled in from my old career for full time ministry. That cut my ministry team in half, Lisa is working 3 jobs now to keep the finances in the black for our household. A lot of my ministry has been solo, hopefully only for the time being, until we can work out this Holy re-org with finances no longer coming in as they once did in the software engineering career. Needless to say, I have been very busy and haven't really had time to produce a newsletter. I have broken down our activities in the following sections. Yes you read the title correctly, Yoga is Hinduism. This may come as a surprise to most Christians who are practicing yoga. I never clearly understood what Yoga was nor did I ever care. It was something I always thought people did who were into stretching and living a vegan or New Age lifestyle. I had the stereotypical, non-Yoga practicing idea of this fitness craze. Usually, I like to stick to my own ramblings in the supernatural. But I have been struggling with how to address the issue of the Christian ghost hunting without coming off and sounding like a pompous condescending scholar on a BBC television show. I wrestled for sometime on how to write this article without offending the intended audience. How do you reach neutral ground on a tough subject and not make people upset or angry about their beliefs? What finally hashed out is this article. I found an interesting documentary on youtube that investigates, through the spiritualists' eyes, the demonic possession of two young girls in the 1800s. These spiritualist beliefs are carried over today in paranormal television shows and ghost hunting. Be aware of what you're watching! I arm chair quarter backed this one with my comments below. And I inserted scripture which counters what the documentary is trying to convey -spiritualism. It's an hour and half documentary. So turn off the cell phone and microwave some pop corn. Paranormal shows are on every popular cable network now, including Animal Planet (with the Haunted series). Paranormal is a cheap reality tv cash cow and audiences can't get enough of it. Some speculate the shows are faked others stay glued to the evidence being displayed with religious fervor. When we see a chair move or hear a disembodied voice on these shows what are really dealing with? Some say it is the proof of an afterlife. Is it? Are there really ghosts? Well, there must be we see them on paranormal reality tv, right? We must tread carefully, as Christians, when we answer these questions. What does the Bible say about ghosts? It doesn't really mention them at all. Some Christians have let spiritualism, the spiritual beliefs of practicing pyschics and mediums seep into their faith. Our M16 Ministry team rarely gets to testify on all the cool healings we're a part of. The cool victories of people being declared by their doctors miraculously healed goes under the table for privacy purposes. When you share the Gospel, heal the sick, drive out demons -and we're still working on raising the dead. You tend to see miracles. Many people seem to think we're all about fighting demons. And I get the warnings of be careful not to engage the enemy, "recklessly". But the truth of the matter is, it's not about the demons. We're not into chasing miracles and seeing the demonic. We're ABOUT sharing the Gospel with the people teetering on the edge, at the frontlines. And when you're on the frontlines you're gonna see warfare -the demons. I am talking about Ephesians 6:12 ! We could care less about the demons, our focus is on the repenting heart . That is the true miracle we're after. And that's why our team goes to the streets ...

The biggest night of the year for Haunted Ghost walk tours is Halloween. And more popular than the ghost walks are going on site on Halloween with ghost hunters. Christians are being lured into the fascination of seeking proof of the afterlife by ghost hunting. This fascination, which is actually a dangerous obsession, has people blindly chasing proof of disembodied spirits. Christians who are participating in ghost hunting are seeking signs, just like the people of Jesus' and Paul's time did. Remember what Paul said about this? Remember what Paul said about the Greeks and their rationalization ( 1 Corinthians 1:22-25 )? They couldn't understand the miracle of the cross and its simplistic message. Ghost hunting is a demonic vice to separate the Christian from what we believe. We go to heaven or hell.
