Every once in a while the paranormal reality shows produce an episode that are worthy of the M16 commentary. Yes, it's time again to arm chair quarter back, or this context, an arm chair exorcise, another episode of Ghost Adventures, the Sedamsville Rectory, which aired Friday 10/19/2012. This episode is chalked full of little exorcism tidbits rarely seen in a paranormal show. In this episode, there is a restoration of an old rectory taking place in (or near) Cincinnati, Ohio. The owners,   Tim Brazeal and Terrie Scott, believe there is demonic activity going on in the rectory (called demonic infestation). When it comes to spiritual warfare and engaging demons the Church tends to be all over the map. From our ministry experience, we have seen time after time where the follower of Jesus is being attacked by a spiritual midget and they don't use their spiritual authority over the situation. Yet, the same individual is called to corporate prayer, they will go straight after a principality and bind them. We have witnessed this with intercessors too, who will bind the demonic kings in their corporate prayers and yet be the first person to run out the door in fear when a spiritual midget manifests in an oppressed person. For some reason we define our spiritual authority in being able to pick a fight with a demonic king. When we are oppressed we run with our tail between our legs screaming, “Help. Monique, a woman in her mid-fifties, was a Christian for the past two decades. Monique loved Jesus and the walls of her house were filled with needle points she had made containing scripture. Christian magazines were neatly displayed on her coffee table. Monique's bookshelf contained a library of books from her favorite author's, Joyce Meyers, and Joel Osteen to name a few. The house picture perfect and had the appearance of being well kept and in order. Monique also watched her grandkids when they came home from school until her son could come and pick them up when he got off work. Everything looked normal in Monique's life. By meeting Monique on her church patio and talking with her you wouldn't know she was in severe demonic torment. I wrote in the Field Guide to Spiritual Warfare , how the Holy Spirit would have me in different seasons of learning. One season was on the streets, where people would walk up to me and have the spirits oppressing them identify themselves. We had this experience recently, on the streets, we were training seminary students in street ministry. The seminary students were able to approach one individual, but a ministry friend of mine, Katie, and myself, were growled at by this person and his spirits told us to stay away from him. The spirits in this individual could see our authority in Christ. It’s good to see it’s not just me, but the Holy Spirit is raising up our friend Katie too. The Holy Spirit will lead you through seasons to reveal the supernatural to you. And many times in this season the Holy Spirit will break you -to make you usable in the new area He is training you in. If God is training you to work in the supernatural he has to break you of your own soul-ish shortcomings and...

It never ceases to amaze me how quickly demons can embrace new technology and run with it. Several years ago when I was being led by the Holy Spirit into curse breaking I would go to hospitals and pray over people. If I felt there was a curse responsible for the person's sickness, I would start praying for the curse to be broken. During these prayer sessions in hopsitals, on several occassions, one individual I was working with, who was demonically oppressed, would always call my cell phone.  He would call at the exact moment I started the curse breaking. I wouldn't hear for him for a month. And then wham! At the start of a curse breaking prayer, his oppressors would have him reach for his cell phone and dial me. This interruption was becoming so common that I added shutting off the cell phone to the check list of things to do for prepping for a curse breaking.
