Night Strike March 12, 2010 - The Scarlet Cord

Last night turned a new page in the Night Strike street ministry. Something was birthed and we're still not sure what it is yet. Many people consider our Night Strike outreach to be specifically a drug addict, prostitute and homeless outreach. But if you know Mark and Bob long enough our true charter is to go into the dark places where everyone else tells us not to go and that's where we find heaven's treasure.

I was passed the mantle for prostitute ministry from my good friends, Elyssa and Leah, who have an incredible heart for this ministry and constantly blessed dancers and prostitutes on the streets and in front of the clubs where they worked. When I was handed the reigns I had every intention of maintaining the ministry and following in the footsteps of my two incredibly blessed friends. What always happens when God has ministry pass batons is He takes the ministry deeper. Change for God literally means things don't stay the same.

For sometime while Leah and Elyssa were ministering on the streets we were getting the message to go inside the clubs. This was a significant step forward and we didn't know what this would like or how we should proceed. Leah and I thought maybe we could go in and find a place to do dream interpretation and try that in these clubs. Again, we know God had a plan but we didn't know what the plan looked like.

This week while ministering with the School of Supernatural ministry, I found like 'spirited' people who were trying to figure out the same form of ministry. But God blessed us with a person who was  knowledge of the industry our team was trying to impact. Our ministry's market place, the prostitutes and the dancers.

This was a gift from God that surfaced in only ways He can arrange. When God arranges an opportunity like this it is time to act. Speaking with Mark and the leaders from BSSM team, we setup a team for Night Strike to enter the darkness. Go into the strip clubs, like Caleb and Joshua, to find Rahabs. This is a significant and huge step in our ministry, but we know with the team God assembled, this had to be done this evening while we had the people.

We setup our small team at Night Strike and kept a lid on our mission's destination. We weren't really discussing with other teams that our objective on this night was to go into strip clubs and spiritually feel the environment and find out what we needed to prepare for and what we were getting in to.

We hand picked our team members, 3 women from the Bethel school of ministry and 3 from Night Strike, in all 2 men, and 4 women. I am not documenting for an oh cool, we're Christian's who totally went into a strip club. I want to document the level of spiritual warriors and where they must be in their walk with Christ to do this sort of ministry. We don't even know what this ministry look's like yet. It's still being birthed. However, you know from my blogs that my ministry is spiritual warfare. This level of spiritual warfare we immersed ourselves in last night was every bit as intense as going into a house with demonic activity. Only this time the oppression is from spirits of perversion and whoredom. It's thick and you can feel it, as I said, just as you feel the oppression in a house with demonic activity. I would even say this was more intense.

From the first club, we learned how to carve up our team to proceed into another club. One club we entered was ground zero for the sexual revolution in pornography in San Francisco. We intercessed for members of our team went in and were literally given a tour. They even handed a dancer a Night Strike rose in that club.

We proceeded over to a third club, and determined, we need to bring lots of money for this ministry. Cover charges are steep! With these expeditions and experiencing first hand the level of warfare we were able to start putting together some ideas on how this ministry would be birthed. Well, I think it was on this night. We didn't just step out of the comfort zone, I think we leaped across the comfort zone chasm and barely made it to the other side. From this experience we were given revelation on what types of people can be on this team and who shouldn't. We are engaging the principality of this city in this one. It's not a hospitality or door greeter ministry and we were given wisdom to hand pick because of the severity of the casualties of war in this operation. Like M16 ministries, this is an offensive engagement of the enemy that will bite back. And it fits Night Strike, we go to the darkest places where we're told not to go. Then on top of that we have our team members from Bethel.

People always wondered what revival would would look like in San Francisco. I think it looks a lot like John 1:5,

The Light shines in darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.

We have to bring the light of Jesus Christ to the darkness and do it very carefully and strategically.
